The PR Coordinator will play a key role in the execution of PR plans, primarily focused on proactive engagement and relationship building with the media and our clients. Public Relations Coordinators are usually the first contact for organizations seeking to reach out in an informed way. The PR Coordinator uses press releases, social media, and other communications to shape and influence clients impression and raise awareness.
DAY-TO DAY Activities
- Build media lists for pitches
- Craft first draft of press releases
- Send out press releases and do follow-ups
- Provide recaps of pitches and press releases
- Media monitoring
- Create weekly recap emails for clients
- Recap client meetings/calls and put into client’s clickup
- Coordinate interviews for clients – send questions from reporters or confirm date/times and put in Steven’s calendar
- Draft executive bios or new bios for clients
- Draft About Us for clients
- Draft boilerplates for clients
- Go through and search relevant and current reporters, columnists and contributors with major media outlets to pitch for specific clients
- Translate press releases, pitches and other materials into Spanish
- QBR decks and monthly reporting emails
Required Skills
- Degree qualification in communications, Public Relations, journalism or similar.
- Exceptional interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication and writing English skills.
- Top notch project management skills
- Experience in dealing with high end media business partners.
- Excellent computer skills. Preferably familiar using Canva.
- Creative writing skills.
