Junior Database Engineer

The Junior Database Engineer participate in technical design sessions; architect and document technical solutions that are aligned with client business objectives and software development best practices. The Junior Database Engineer ensure the technical feasibility of User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) designs and manage technical scopes and client expectations. The Junior Database Engineer work with and extend existing code and applications to implement client requirements and remediation tasks Performing data import and transformation. The Junior Database Engineer developing scripts for data import, quality assessments, and error handling. Also supporting the full software development lifecycle. The Junior Database Engineer taking tasks from requirement gathering to design to development to testing to deployment with oversight and following established design standards.

Junior Database Engineer Responsibilities:

• Contributes individually to writing and maintaining code to meet requirements and quality standards.
• Participates in user story writing and software design.
• Follows technical plans and implementation details established by the team.
• Collaborates with other software engineers and managers, technical leads, and developers to ensure successful delivery of software projects.
• Participating in daily stand ups, weekly grooming and sprint planning.
• Assisting and supporting a variety of engineering efforts ranging from front-end development.
• Writing unit tests to validate your code
• Participate in code reviews.
• Provide advice and support to development resources.
• Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures.
• Support the standing standards, policies and procedures of the customer team.
• Provide mentorship to group members and will be expected to help develop and support junior level staff.

Junior Database Engineer Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related database field.
• Solid experience in infrastructure and configuration automation.
• Data Modeling.
• ETL/Data Aggregation/Archiving/Purging experience on a large data set.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly root cause analysis and debugging to diagnose and resolve issues in complex environments.
