Surveying Assistant Superintendent

The Surveying Assistant Superintendent coordinates all site surveying activities as required to successfully complete the surveying project on schedule and within budget. The Surveying Assistant Superintendent will actively communicate with the offsite Surveying Field Operations Manager & the onsite project management team to ensure surveying & onsite expectations are being met. The Surveying Assistant Superintendent will be mentored and provided daily support from the Surveying Field Operations Manager where necessary to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to work more autonomously. The Surveying Assistant Superintendent directs, guides, and coaches Surveying Foremen to ensure surveying activities on site are understood and are following established processes through quality checks as expected by the project management teams.

Surveying Assistant Superintendent Responsibilities:

• Accountable to continually reinforce safe behaviors and correct “at risk” behaviors.
• Adheres to and ensures all site team members understand standard operating procedures.
• Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employee.
• Provides information about surveying activities.
• Identifies and mitigates potential surveying employee relations issues.
• Subject Matter Expert to help resolve onsite surveying issues with the project management team.
• Schedules and ensures appropriate staffing for surveying activities.
• Identifies potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues as it relates to surveying.
• Directs, guides, and coaches Surveying Foremen to ensure surveying activities on site are understood and are following established processes.

Surveying Assistant Superintendent Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge in safety and OSHA requirements
• Solid experience in interpretation of a surveying project schedule.
• Interpretation of scopes of work.
• Surveying & construction staking industry practices.
• Experience understanding of surveying file types.
