The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and documenting technical and functional solutions based on client business requirements. They collaborate with Business Analysts and Project Managers to design project plans and budgets based on their overall strategic technical vision. The Solution Architect may be assigned multiple simultaneous projects.
Responsibilities
- Participate in client and partner engagements, provide technical and functional direction
- Serve as a Subject-Matter-Expert on Microsoft D365, including commerce and Retail
- Understand and assess client business needs to provide technical and functional direction to scaffold into a technical solution
- Support Pre-Sales Solution Architect in creating client demos as required
- Create technical and functional solutions to meet client requirements
- Together with the Business Analyst and Project Manager, review client/partner business requirements and Statement of Work (SOW) and evaluate requirements against existing out of the box solutions
- Support Project Manager in the creation of the Project Plan, including by providing accurate work estimations
- Design technical solutions, ensuring all stakeholders needs are considered and factored into project scope
- Draft required documentation, including functional design document
- Serve as Technical Lead on projects throughout project lifecycle
- Participate in scrums at the assigned interval (daily, weekly, or as needed)
- Supervise project developers, coordinating and assigning tasks to ensure best use of staff
- Acting as a senior member of the Delivery Team, take on advanced technical tasks beyond the scope of junior staff
- Act as an escalation point for technical issues; assist Delivery team in overcoming technical roadblocks and challenges
- Provide code reviews to help maintain a high level of coding practices across the project
- Use assigned work tools to coordinate ongoing development initiatives and daily task
- Monitor tickets on a daily basis to ensure assigned tickets are up to date and responded to appropriately
- Ensure tickets maintain a high level of communication, and teammates and clients are kept appropriately informed
- Mentor and assist employees within the Professional Services Department
- Train and support the professional development of junior employees to become independent and maintain a high standard of work and accuracy
- Serve as the designated mentor and supervisor of assigned coop students

Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years leading technical implementations
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
- Experience configuring channels, product hierarchies, and other Dynamics 365 Commerce HQ features
- Experience with previous versions of Finance and Operations is an asset: AX 2012, AX 2009
- Microsoft Dynamics Certifications are an asset
