The Public Health Virtual Assistant position has a high level of project/program management responsibilities as well as coordination responsibilities for different departments. The The Public Health Virtual Assistant needs to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as they have responsibility for developing trainings and presentations. The Public Health Virtual Assistant position works with multiple business units across the enterprise, and with employees at all levels of the organization. The Public Health Virtual Assistant understands the program/client/policy needs and requirements in order to act as a trusted advisor to clients
The Public Health Virtual Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting literature reviews and compiling resources related to a variety of topics, including social determinants of health, fatality review, vital statistics and mortality data collection improvement.
- Assist in creating materials such as process guides, presentations, FAQs, training and onboarding materials, step-by-step guides, brochures, and other educational documents for both internal and external use.
- Ensure that all materials and resources are consistent, easy to understand, and well organized.
- Proofread and edit own work and the work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, and effectiveness of materials.
- Assist in planning all aspects of trainings and events.
- Assist with the facilitation of virtual training sessions.
- Provide technical assistance/support during training sessions.
- Support data collection, case record ascertainment from external partners and data entry.
- Support efforts that ensure case data is entered in a timely, accurate manner.
- Identify and prioritize project tasks with the supervisor and Project Coordinator.
- Monitor task status and participate in proactive planning to maintain project timelines and meet established deadlines.
- Support project staff teams in the completion of tasks necessary to maintaining highly responsive, partner-oriented programs.
- Remain current on literature in key areas, to be identified in collaboration with the Program Director and Project Coordinator.
- When travel resumes, travel as needed, both in- and out-of-state.
The Public Health Virtual Assistant Requirements
- Desire and ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Knowledge of and/or interest in applying health equity concepts to public health practice.
- Proficiency with standard computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office including Access and Excel).
- Working knowledge of Zoom, SurveyMonkey, Microsoft Teams, and other programs, as needed.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and a team player.
- Ability to create learning materials designed for effective adult learning/training.
- Desire to continuously learn new features of training development tools and software.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Conceptual thinker with the ability to understand the ‘big picture’ of projects.
