The Triage Nurse Manager plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a contact center. The Triage Nurse Manager maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, and training clinical staff. Being a Triage Nurse Manager ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. The Triage Nurse Manager may provide direct patient care and is responsible for evaluating patient health over the phone. The Triage Nurse Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
Triage Nurse Manager Responsibilities:
- Manages nursing care in an assigned area, which may either be a clinical, administrative or community setting.
- Assesses patient care needs.
- Supervises assigned nursing staff.
- Maintains accurate records and prepares written reports.
- Serves on committees as assigned or as need.
- Promotes effective verbal and written communication.
- Responds to incoming calls/ tasks related to contraception, complicated prior authorizations, and site medical clearance.
- Attend all staff meetings, training/testing.
Triage Nurse Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor´s degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration or a closely related field.
- Experience as a registered nurse.
- Solid experience as an assistant nurse manager/charge Nurse in a general acute care hospital.
- Strong experience understanding, planning and arranging patient care.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
